Does my toddler need to sit still and meditate like in an adult yoga class?

Children’s yoga is playful because they learn through play at this age.  There are moments of stillness, but also lots of opportunities to move their bodies and get wiggles out!  Bridget meets the children where they are that day energetically and uses her experience to modify lessons to become effective.

The benefits of yoga for toddlers are endless!  A regular Yoga and mindfulness practice can help with language development, body awareness, gross motor skills, strength, balance, socialization and fine motor skills!  Children learn early on that they have tools in their toolboxes for self-regulation and to balance their energy without help from parent, teacher or caregiver, although may need guidance at times.

They learn that their breath can be used as a tool to help them in different situations: cultivate calm, boost confidence, and help persevere during challenging times!  It helps create that mind-body connection for little ones early on!  They learn the pause, which helps with self-regulation, and is MAJOR for toddlers!  These are tools they will have in their toolbox ready to access throughout their whole lives!  Not to mention, we have a LOT of fun together!!
